What Is This?

Cyborg Unicorn Story Hour is an open mic night. Sci-fi, fantasy, and horror stories are encouraged but not required. Songs, poetry, TED talks, and anything else you want to share are all welcome!

What Is the Format?

• Find the unicorn to get your name on the list
• Order of performers is randomized
• 7 minutes max per performer
• Up to 15 or so open mic slots available per event (yes this means it may run longer than an hour 🙂)
• No recording allowed

What Is the Venue?

Mr. B's Meadery is the best meadery in the country and probably the world. In addition to mead, Mr. B's sells non-alcoholic beverages, and you're welcome to bring in food from elsewhere. There are a bunch of tasty restaurants nearby that pair well with delicious mead.

In the colder months we meet at Mr B's Mead Center in White Center, which has a large indoor space. In warmer months we meet at his Fremont location to enjoy the lovely outdoor seating.

What Is Mead?

Mead is a fermented beverage made from water, honey, yeast, and sometimes other fruits and spices. Mr. B has crafted a variety of unique and amazing flavors from dry to sweet to spicy to sparkling. Mead is usually about as alcoholic as wine (~11-15% ABV), except for the sparkling meads which are ~5%. The smallest pour is one ounce and reduced pricing is available for tasting flights.
